What NYC Aging registration means

NYC Aging describes a social adult day care (SADC) as a structured program that provides functionally impaired adults with socialization, supervision and monitoring, personal care, and nutrition in a protective setting. It is not a medical program. Every SADC operating in New York City must register with NYC Aging (NYC Administrative Code §21-204) and follow the New York State Office for the Aging program standards and the city's rules. In NYC Aging's words, registration "does not grant a certification or license," and NYC Aging does not rate the quality of a program. To ask about or complain about an SADC, call 311.
